21.06.2021

In this video we discuss Ebbinghaus' "Forgetting curve". - What is it? - How can you overcome it? - How we have built Smart Revise to help with this problem. Although we exemplify the use of Smart Revise, you can help beat the forgetting curve in other ways too: - Make regular reference to old learning by exploring links between topics. - Make simple mind maps or spider diagrams of key concepts. Remove the information to be left with just the skeleton. Have a go at completing the skeleton again a few weeks/months later. - Start every lesson with a 10 question low stakes quiz based on old topics. If you are not using Smart Revise, build up a bank of these to use next year too! - Don't leave past paper questions until the end of the course. - Ask each student to lead a 5 minute "remember this" activity with the rest of the class. One student per lesson.
