The Psychology of Projection

Projection is a psychological fact that can be observed everywhere in the everyday life of human beings. It is an unconscious mechanism where one ascribes one’s own motivations, thoughts, feelings, and desires that are unacceptable to oneself, while attributing them to others. It is a misalignment of the inner and outer world, because what one is inwardly, one will see outwardly. To really know who we are, we must concern ourselves with correcting such misjudgements. Many people will cling to them with every fibre of their being, because if one accepts correction, one may fall into a depression. When we find certain unacceptable feelings, thoughts or behaviours in ourselves that we refuse to acknowledge, and see someone with that specific trait, we will feel resentment, hatred and anger towards them. Projection occurs not because of what other people say to you, but rather because of what you yourself think about those people. ⭐ Support this channel: 🤍 📺 YouTube Member Perks: 🤍 ☕ Donate a Coffee: 🤍 📘 PayPal 🤍 🛒 Official Merch: 🤍 🎨 Access transcript and artwork gallery: 🤍 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📚 Recommended Reading ▶ Inner Gold: Understanding Psychological Projection 🤍 ▶ Projection and Re-Collection in Jungian Psychology: Reflections of the Soul 🤍 ▶ Man and His Symbols 🤍 🎧 Prefer Audiobooks? Carl Jung & The Psychology of Self-Sabotage (feat. Emerald)

FREE Shadow integration Masterclass: 🤍 Shadow Playlist: 🤍 Why do we self-sabotage? How come that we wreck our own plans without any good reason? Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung discovered plausible answers to these questions as he became aware of a part of the psyche that he called the Shadow. We can see the Shadow as a psychological container within the realm of the unconscious. In this dark place, where the light of our conscious awareness does not reach, we store our undesirable traits. Luckily, there are ways to stop this self-sabotage. Instead of repressing what’s in the Shadow, Jung urged us to integrate it into our personality. And we can only do this by making the unconscious conscious and discovering what’s hiding underneath. This video explores Carl Jung & the psychology of self-sabotage, featuring Emerald from The Diamond Net. No, it’s not some secret code, but if someone is looking at you and you happen to yawn, they won’t be able to help but yawn themselves. - The food serves as a great distraction and can actually relieve tension since you’ll start to care more about the food than what you’re talking about. - When there’s silence, the other person is more likely to talk and will probably say more than they would if you were to interject. - A sure way to stand out from the crowd is to use the “serial position effect.” This is based on the idea that people tend to remember the first and last parts of things and not as much of the middle. - If you’re in a new relationship or starting a friendship with someone, instead of going to the movies or out to eat, try doing an activity together that can get your blood pumping. - While you’re talking and getting to know each other, try to point out something you both have in common. Maybe you grew up in the same town or you both have the same alma mater. - When you meet someone for the first time at a party or work event, say their name right after they introduce themselves. - Instead of asking the person point blank if they can help, pose a false dilemma. - Even if you aren’t sure of something, that doesn’t mean you should question what you say. Try leaving out the word “I think” when you talk to your friends and family. - For people to pay attention to what you’re saying, keep direct eye contact with them while you’re talking.
